Windsurfing: Lake Bala
Wind Direction: SW
Wind Stength: gusty 25-40 knts
Surf / Sea State: choppy
Air Temperature: 15C
Sea Temperature:
Weather: rain then sunny

Distance Covered:

I decided that the tide times weren't too good for the estuary today and the swell/wind combination ,might be too much for me so headed to Bala instead.

Arrived in rain but the wind was blowing. Rain stopped and wind eased so I went out on my new Eagle and 5.8m but was pretty overpowered and came straight back in for the wave board and 4.5m. A couple of other guys went out on 4.0m and were well powered up but seeing the forecast I hadn't bothered to bring mine :-(

Hung onto the 4.5m in some mad gusts, UK wind map now showing 36-51 knots in that area so it was a maxed out day. Over towards the sailing club there was some huge chop which was good for jumping off and I made a decent jump on the first run over.

Not been out much recently and soon felt shattered but still a really good session, great choice of a day off.
